Bindurrk has always been a highlight of the camping season. Removed from all mains power and facilities, Bindurrk is completely run through solar panels. Without even a sealed road up to the house, this little corner of paradise is a wonderful retreat for all who visit.
In 2022, Jalba told a few friends he was heading home and soon, he had half-a-dozen campers following him over 1500kms north, into the bush.
In 2023, there were 12 people camping over eleven days with Jalba teaching the eager campers all about Nyul-Nyul country and Beagle Bay.
They netted fish, hooked crabs, hid from donkeys, celebrated pearls in Broome for Shinju Matsuri festival and ate turtle.
In 2024, Jalba has over 20 people poised to rush up to his country at the top of Western Australia, on the Dampier Peninsular. They'll stay in Derby for the NAIDOC festivities then deep in the bush for a few days returning to country.
